Why is the compass not rotating on my iPhone or iPad?âŧ
On iOS Safari, Apple requires explicit user permission to access motion and orientation sensors. Tap the green "Allow Motion & Orientation" button at the top of the compass dial. Also make sure Compass Calibration is enabled in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services.
Why does the compass show a warning on my laptop or desktop PC?âŧ
Desktop and laptop computers do not contain magnetometer hardware. Simply scan the QR code displayed on the homepage with your smartphone camera to open the tool on your mobile device.
How do I calibrate my compass for greater accuracy?âŧ
Hold your phone flat and wave it in a gentle Figure-8 motion in the air 3 to 5 times. Keep the device away from metal objects, magnets in phone covers, and high-voltage electronics.
